Kings Birthday Long Weekend Snapper Session + A Sweet Surprise at South Beach Market
The King’s Birthday long weekend gave me the perfect excuse to sneak away for a few days of fishing – and what a trip it was! I headed down to Mt Martha early Saturday morning, chasing snapper off the rock wall. Conditions were ideal: light offshore winds, a rising tide, and that crisp winter sun breaking through the clouds.
After a quiet start, the action picked up around mid-morning, and I managed to land a few solid reds – one of them pushing close to 6kg! Nothing beats that adrenaline rush when a big snapper takes off, peeling line and testing your gear.
Once I’d packed up and cleaned my catch, I swung by the South Beach Market for a bite. I wasn’t expecting much, but wow – I stumbled across a stall selling some of the best loaded cookies in Australia. I’m talking Nutella stuffed cookies, peanut butter stuffed cookies, and even one with chunks of brownie baked right into it.
Turns out, they were from Crumbaroo, a small Aussie business absolutely nailing the art of stuffed cookies Australiastyle. If you're into next-level sweet treats, these guys are worth checking out. Whether you're stocking up for your next fishing trip or just craving something indulgent, Crumbaroo's loaded cookies are seriously addictive.
So, all in all – epic snapper, salty air, and some unforgettable cookies. Doesn’t get much better than that.
